The Nissan Qashqai looks like an SUV but drives like a car. It's more an MPV based on a Renault Megane platform. It drives well. In keeping with its Tonka-Toy looks it quashes competition. The Qashqai is an interesting alternative offering something different from the everyday 5-door hatchback in space, versatility and style.

The Nissan Qashqai has 5-doors, 5 or 7 seats as Visia, Acenta, n-tec or Tekna grades. The seven seat Qashqai+2 is longer and more versatile. Engine options include 1.6, 2.0 petrol, 1.5, 2.0 diesel. Both automatic and manual are available as is FWD or 4WD. The 1.6 performs well with fairly good economy, emissions and car insurance groups as you can see in the chart below.

The Qashqai Acenta additional equipment to the Qashqai Visia upgrades the ICE, wipers, mirrors, internal and external lighting, trim and storage, plus cruise control, climate control, 17" wheel size and front fogs.

The Qashqai n-tec features Nissan Connect, a reversing camera, 18" wheels, sunroof, privacy glass. The Qashqai Tekna has leather trim, heated seats, Xenon lamps with washers, an intelligent key and Bose ICE.

The Nissan Qashqai dci engines are a consideration if your mileage fuel savings recovers the added cost of the car and diesel fuel. A diesel Nissan Qashqai is likely to be more welcomed by car dealers when part exchanged so you might get some of your money back at the end of ownership.

A used Qashqai is not easy to find. And a second hand Nissan Qashqai won't necessarily be cheap with demand maintaining values.
