2011 Ford Focus Review

In  the UK you'll find the sleekly styled new Ford Focus for sale as a medium/small 5-door hatchback and Ford Focus estate car. For the time being the 3-door and coupe cabriolet derivatives remain in the previous style.

2011 Ford Focus models include the Edge, Zetec, Titanium, Titanium X. The Ford Focus Zetec features sports styling and seats with heated door mirrors and Quickiclear windscreen.

The Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi is popular and it's worth considering a diesel Ford Focus if your mileage means you make savings to more than cover the added costs. The Ford Focus 1.6 petrol is economical and more town friendly than diesel. There is also an automatic Focus option as a Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi.

They don't make a slow Focus. They're all both fast and most quick. Fuel economy and emissions have been improved. You won't pay the old efficiency penalty for opting automatic. With car insurance premiums rocketing it's worth getting proper quotes for the engine options you're considering because differences have widened with the new 1 to 50 group table. If you've full no claims it might be less of a concern.

The Ford Focus 1.6 EcoBoost combines injection, VVT and turbo technology to produce the power previously delivered by 2.0L engines whilst achieving better fuel economy and lower emissions.

You can get reasonably cheap car insurance for the Focus entry model. It's advisable to get separate car insurance quotes for each different model you consider. It's worth your while to directly compare car insurance quotes online for yourself. The differences in quotes can be massive.

The Focus is historically a UK best seller having to compete with every single alternative in the table above because they're all so similar. The Focus usually wins by just appearing that little bit better - insignificantly - in all aspects.  My experience is differences amount to matters of personal taste, down to perceived ride even the size of the steering wheel!

Check used Ford Focus prices when they appear against new Ford Focus pricing which might be a combination of value in discount, finance deals, add-ons and part-exchange prices. This sector is highly competitive and the Focus will be attacked by competitors' offers. However today's discount is tomorrow's depreciation so you need the best deal.

Although there are 15 main competitors in this class they're only on 9 different platforms and very similar. This means you can play them off against each other as next best negotiable alternatives to drive the best deal.

All the cars in this sector are enjoyable to drive especially the Focus which is quiet and great fun. If you take test drive there's more than half a chance you'll do a deal.
