BMW 1-Series Comparison >

It may be a surprise to discover the Hyundai i30 and BMW 1-Series are the same size, both have 5-star Euro NCAP ratings and ESP as standard. Both have similar fuel consumption and emissions at the entry level. And there's little difference in the performance of their 1.6 engines when it comes to real on the road driving. But with over a £5,000 difference at the entry level there are differences. The i30 enters with 5-doors - not 3, it has more space, the security of front wheel drive and a longer warranty. There might appear to be a big difference in brand equity but both manufacturers have their own loyal followers - for different reasons.
